LOTOJA 2010

The title of this post is misleading...I did NOT ride this bike race, however, my dad rode it for the 6th time and we were there to cheer him on at the finish line! He did it in about 10hrs 40min. Not bad for an old man!! We made a trip out of it and stopped in Rigby along the way and stayed with my friend Jenny and her 2 boys, Jaxon and Crew. We had lots of fun and even went to Bear World with them the next day.

We headed up to Jackson Hole on Saturday, checked into the hotel, watched the Ohio State Game for a little bit, then hung out in town for a while until it was time to head to the finish line. It's always exciting seeing my dad cross the finish line. Each year I tell myself "I'm going to do it next year"....we'll see if that ever happens. I also decided to do a little photoshoot in the shrubbery next to the finish line. It was somewhat embarrasing, but I liked the backdrop :) I can't decide which picture I like better... and yes, that's slobber on my shoulder.

The next day, we drove down to Soda Springs and had lunch with Grandma & Grandpa Clark. Always a treat. Sue & Wade and their families also came over to visit. Sorry Grandma and Grandpa Schenk, you were going to be our next stop but we volunteered to rush Wade to the Salt Lake Airport and didn't have an extra second. Anyway, we enjoy our yearly tradition of road trippin to Jackson and hopefully we can keep it up until my dad gives up this insane sport. I'm sure my kids will be grown and out of the house by then.

Preschool!!

It's official, the twins are now my 'kids' instead of my 'babies'. They were SOOO excited to start preschool and they've had fun each day so far. They take at Flips with cousin Dani. It's 3 days a week and each day they get an hour of learning and an hour of gymnastics. For Show & Tell last week they had to take something that started with the letter 'A'. The first 2 things they could think of that started with A were, Ariel & Ashley; so that's what they took!! (A picture of Ashley). Nic and I have come to terms with the fact that those days of doing whatever we want, whenever we want with our kids are now gone. We're strapped down to the school/lesson lifestyle. Good thing we love these little muffins!

Red Butte Gardens

Red Butte Garden's was free on Labor Day and since we've never been there, we decided to try it out. It was cute and the little ladies had fun.

Scripture Scholars!

Camryn and Brooklyn earned their scripture award for the summer reading program last week! We read almost every night this summer. Their favorite stories are: The Good Samaratin, and the story where "Jesus spits in the dirt, rubs the mud on the blind man's eyes, and tells him to go wash it off in the pond; then the man could see and it was a miracle!" (that's how they tell it). Anyway, I'm proud of these girlies and think it's so cute how much they love primary. We'll see if they still feel the same way next week when they have to get on stage for the primary program.

The Cabin

I took the girls up to the cabin a couple weekends ago. Grandma, Grandpa, Tammy, Britten, Dani and Dreya were all there too. We saw a lot of moose which is always cool. I took the girls on a nature walk and played 'pretend photographer'. If only I had a sweet camera...I'd even take one that has a functioning zoom at this point. Anyway, the little girls stayed up till almost midnight getting out of bed and playing, but it was fun overall. The next day we headed over to Swiss Days. C.R.O.W.D.E.D. That's all I have to say about that.

She's Bored

We've been doing albuterol breathing treatments on Kendyl this week. The weather is changing and her sickness has erupted. I could tell her breathing was getting more strained last week and started doing the treatments. When she was up half the night wheezing, coughing and struggling for air last Saturday, I figured I'd better get her out of bed and take her to the ER. They gave her a couple breathing treatments and it helped a ton....apparantly the expired albuterol I was giving her wasn't making a difference. The Dr. wrote me out a prescription for FRESH medicine and it seems to help:)
ANYWAY....
These treatments take from 10-15 minutes (basically it's a machine that blows a mist into her face...fun right?) She's not a huge fan of this. Last night I was holding her in the rocking chair, singing her songs and giving her the treatment. She had her head in her hand and looked up at me and said..."Mom, I'm bored. I'm bored. Wanna toy." Bless her heart. This baby puts up with alot.

Davis County Fair

Highlights of this year's fair
*Kendyl's biggest thrill on the boat ride was dipping her hand in the water and sucking it off....over and over and over again. Yikes.
*I've NEVER seen more excitement from Camryn and Kendyl than when they rode the little car ride together.
*I got a strawberry funnel cake...and didn't share very much of it :)
*The twins went home with their own pint sized brooms. They were STOKED!
*The girls all got a pencil from the ARMY guys...Kendyl ate the erasers off each of them.

Grandma & Grandpa's House

Family dinner is always a treat for the grandkids when they all get to gang up on us and go nuts. I enjoyed this particular dinner because I dressed up Owen like a girl. He kept running passed people an nobody even noticed that it wasn't Kendyl. It was pure shock when I told them to take another look at "Kendyl" and they realized it was Owen. Haha, he pulls the look off GREAT :)

Pineview

We stayed at the Eden house a couple weeks ago and spent LOTS of time at the beach at Pineview. I didn't take a whole lot of pictures, but here are a few cute ones. These girls LOVE the beach...and this is the best we've got in Utah!
