Nixon's Arrival
I was induced on Wednesday, May 18th. My attempts to bring on labor myself by jumping on the tramp, boating, snowmobiling, etc., etc., failed. I got to LDS hospital at 8AM and was immediately "hooked up" to everything. The epidural was PAINFUL! Somehow, the anesthesiologist hit a nerve that went straight to my right foot...it about sent me through the roof. Anyway, I got through that and soon after had my water broken. I have a history of going FAST at this point...this time was different. My doctor had to drive back and forth from his Bountiful office to LDS Hospital 2 different times in hopes to deliver our baby. Nixon was just a little too high. Finally, on attempt number 3 of my series of pushing, Nixon was ready and practically flew out after half a push. It was 5:24pm. Our families had been waiting at the hospital for over an hour...seeing as we all thought he'd be born hours earlier. Needless to say, it was pure excitement when we all heard the crying. When Camryn heard him crying from the hallway she said, "I think he's a wild one". Haha. I'm missing a few pictures of some of our visitors :( Ashley, Dani, Holly, Clark, Ella and Owen also welcomed Nixon at the hospital!
I was able to go home the next night. I felt great and Nixon was doing well...we were ready to get out of there! The girls had spent the previous couple days/nights with Ashley and Nana, then Grandma/pa Sellers. They had a blast, but couldn't wait to be with baby brother. Unfortunately, Kendyl caught a cold the day Nixon was born, so she hasn't been allowed to get close to him. It breaks my heart to tell her "no", but I'm trying to avoid going BACK to the hospital. Needless to say, she's been acting out a bit and definitely tyring our patience. Nana left this morning and we're already missing the help. Today was LONG. Luckily, Grandma lives right up the hill :) Grandma and Nana have been GREAT help this last week. They're both FABULOUS!
I have no complaints about baby Nixon. He's been perfect. He came out ready to eat and has been a fabulous eater ever since. He sleeps 4 hours at a time during the night and goes right back to sleep after nursing. He's only 4 days old so obviously, he sleeps all day. I hesitate to write any of this because I may be jinxing myself. If I don't post for a month....his habits have most likely changed for the worse! I'm a little worried that he may have reflux because I hear his tummy rumble and see him gagging alot. He's puked on me a couple times. Poor little guy. I'm praying it doesn't get worse. Well it's off to bed for me, Nixon's got a little 'procedure' in the morning that we don't want to be late to!

Tomorrow, I'm having a baby.
No more heartburn. No more skin tearing. No more "broken" pelvis. No more nausea. No more bloody nose. No more leg cramps. No more suffocating. No more "broken" ribs. No more back pain. No more "taste". I realize that having a baby will bring on a WHOLE new list of complications to my life. BUT...I can't wait for those complications. We can't wait to bring our baby Nixon home!!!
The Dresses!
My girls have been asking me to make them dresses for a while now. Last week, I decided sewing might help the time pass faster while I wait for this baby to arrive. So here they are! Next time, I'll stick to pillow case dresses...I didn't realize how complex this pattern was until I got started. I never want to forget these dresses, I love them. I'll have to take more pictures next time they wear them

Preschool Field Trips
My girls have LOVED preschool at Flips this year! They're "graduating" on the 26th, so perhaps I'll talk more about their school experience then. But for now, I thought I'd post a few pictures of the field trips they've taken lately.
Here they are at Wheeler Farm. Kendyl gets to go on the field trips too. All the teachers know her by name and are good about including her during the field trip. It's cute. She was feeling left out because she didn't have a special "spray shirt" (spray painted shirt) that all the other kids wear on field trips. She kept wondering where hers was. It melted my heart when Brooklyn decided to take hers off (she had clothes underneath), and let Kendyl wear it. Later, Miss Shanna gave Kendyl her own spray shirt- apparantly there were a couple extras from kids that had given up on preschool.
They went to a lady's house to see baby ducks a few days ago. They loved it.

All in a Day!!!
Nic's had this crazy dream for a while now. It had to happen on the PERFECT weather day. Well Saturday, his dream came true. After we got home from Race for the Cure, we set out to spend the rest of the day snowmobiling and boating.
Nic pulled the snowmobiles and I pulled the boat. We found a safe place in Salt Lake to ditch the SUV/boat while we went into the mountains. There was PLENTY of snow up by Solitude. We started off in coats and ended up in t-shirts. The girls had a BLAST on the snomobiles! I've never seen such big smiles. We pulled a little sled behind one of the snowmobiles and they had tons of fun being pulled behind it...especially Brooklyn. Their favorite part was hopping on Daddy's snowmobile and going fast.
Once we were loaded up, we drove down the mountain, swapped SUVs/trailers, and headed to Utah Lake. My parents met us at the lake and we enjoyed a couple hours on the water. It wasn't even that cold....at least that's what Nic claims. He wasn't about to waste a day at the lake so he hopped in and went wakeboarding!
Only in Utah!! Here's Nic's video! (youtube video "all in one day")
