My little photographers
What happens when you unleash a couple 6 year olds with a camera?
These two girls are so awesome. They're weird and silly and full of life and I LOVE IT!

Kendyl's apple orchard field trip
Kendyl is such a little joy in my life. I was so happy to be able to go on her first field trip with her class. The farmer was SO good with the kids and they were all so excited to be able to pick apples for their whole families! We came right home and ate one for lunch :)
Talents
Camryn and Brooklyn had a lesson in church last week about talents. They decided to make a craft (which is a BIG, MESSY part of their lives), that afternoon. As I was cleaning the next day, I found the remnants of their craft sitting in the window sill. It made me heart happy :)
Nigh Night
My pretty stars
Kendyl found these little stars, and very meticulously placed them. She told me I looked SO pretty in them. Every time one would fall off, she'd get a serious look on her face and stick it back on. And the truth is....I DID feel extra pretty with these on!!! ;) Thanks for the photo bomb Miss Camryn.
Kendyl's first Preschool art project
Kendyl Babe. She's funny, clever, and marches to the tune of her own drummer. Miss Shanna just laughed when I picked up Kendy from preschool a couple weeks ago. She showed me Kendyl's art project. She told me that the kids got to make a face with the stickers she had provided. When she offered Kendyl a mouth for her face, Kendyl turned down the offer and insisted on drawing her own, better mouth. And better...it was :)
Zumba at Flips
My new Zumba home is FLIPS GYMNASTICS! It has been SUCH a good move! My class size has increased. It isn't 1,000 degrees inside. The floors are a little bouncy = FUN! I get to actually KEEP 100% of my earnings instead of a 50/50 split! (The lady who owns the place told me that if she and her daughters can Zumba for free- that counts as my rent!....she has yet to come) We don't have to share space with a bunch of loud volleyball players. The stereo is good. etc. etc. Let's hope it just keeps getting better from here!
Blue Pianos
We LOVE our blue piano! In fact, Nic loves it so much, that he decided to BUILD a miniature version :) He actually built it for the girls. After seeing that the actual American Doll pianos sell for over $300, he decided to give it a go and do it himself. It only took him a couple evenings and it's PERFECT! Nixon just might be the most excited about these blue pianos!

I am a Mormon
I went to the Utah State Fair with my family on Thursday night. As we were strolling through the smelly cow barn, I remembered taking a family picture in that exact spot 5 years ago. I used that picture as the header of the blog I was starting. I entitled it "1 guy 3 girls" since Nic was a lone man surrounded by the twins and myself. I guess it's still fitting for my kids...the lone Nixon :)
I've been pretty diligent at keeping up my blog since then. In 2007, EVERYBODY had a blog and kept it up, then Myspace, Facebook and Twitter seemed to take over. I like to print off my blog and use it as our Family Journal....I am NOT a scrapbooker, so this seems like the best way for me!
I know there are people from many parts of the world that look at this blog, and I'm flattered that people would find my life interesting enough to follow us! There is one BIG part of my life that I don't talk about enough. Mostly because I usually just post pictures of fun things we do. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I realize that my religion has become a popular topic in the media with Mitt Romney as a presidential candidate. I've heard a lot of great things said about the LDS church, and also some not so great things.
Our beliefs are simple. We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in modern day revelation. We believe in Eternal life and we know that our families are FOREVER. We believe in doing good to all men. We have standards that we follow in order to keep our bodies and minds clean and healthy and free of addiction. We believe in the Bible and in a book called "The Book of Mormon", which is another testament of Jesus Christ when he visited the Americas. We believe that our church was restored to the earth in 1830 through a man by the name of Joseph Smith, the first prophet of the LDS church.
We have thirteen statements outlining some of our basic teachings and ordinances written by Joseph Smith. We refer to these as the Articles of Faith. Mormon.org is a user friendly, fun way to get a more in depth look at our church and our beliefs.
I was lucky enough to be born into an LDS family. I've always had a testimony and pure belief of these things. That doesn't mean that I'm perfect and haven't made mistakes. I make mistakes every day, some bigger than others. I am grateful for the gift of repentance, so that if I mess up or lose my way, I can be forgiven. The atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ has made this possible.
I am a mother and a wife now. My husband and I were married in the Bountiful, Utah LDS Temple. We have been sealed together for time and all eternity. We have had 4 beautiful children that are now automatically sealed to us because of the covenants we made in the temple. Our children have become our LIVES! They have made life sweet and wonderful. We know that death in this life will not be the end of our family.
I am so thankful for this Gospel in my life. It keeps me on a righteous path. It brings a beautiful spirit in to my home that is unlike any other feeling. It brings peace and understanding to my life. It allows me to be patient and loving to others. It gives me the opportunity to humble myself, put others before myself and try to improve on my own weaknesses and shortcomings. It is perfect and it is true. I hope that if you're reading this, and this is your first glimpse into the LDS (mormon) church, you'll search our website for more information and answers. There are links on mormon.org to request your own Book of Mormon and also a request form to have the LDS missionaries meet with you in your home to give you further knowledge of the church.

Nixter at 15 months
Despite my attempts to duct tape his body into a little ball...Nixon continues to grow (sort of).
Stats:
Weight: 19lbs 12oz (<5%) haha
Length: 30" (15%)
Head: 18 3/4 (60%)
Hey, at least his head makes the charts!!
A few of his special little things:
CURLY BLOND HAIR.
Sings Beethoven's 5th....no joke.
Says "Dee Doo" (thank you) for EVERYTHING, including when we change his diaper.
Could live off liquids alone. Boppies.
Still takes 2 good naps a day.
Kendyl is in PRESCHOOL
This little girl has been SOOO excited to start school. We went to TJ Maxx the day before and I let her pick out a new outfit for her first day. Her teacher is Miss Shanna. Kendyl and I love her! I see Shanna every day of the week (excluding weekends)since she comes to my Zumba classes. She's already told me that Kendyl is doing GREAT and has a smart little head on her shoulders. When I asked Kendyl what her favorite thing was that she did at school on Thursday, she said, "ate rice crispy treats". Of course :)
St. George & Aladdin
We drove down to St. George last weekend to spend Labor Day with my family. I had to take pictures of the kids on the way down for a couple reasons. 1. Camryn brought her little framed picture of Nixon and set it next to her in the car. She drew pictures the ENTIRE car ride....and they were pretty dang good. 2. Nixon LOVES books and spent a good amount of time looking at them.
We basically spent the majority of our trip in the pool. It was a party every day with 9 kids and 8 adults out there. I wish I would have taken some videos of Nic and my parents going down the slide on their bellies. Kendyl decided she was going to ditch the floaties and just swim like her sisters! We were in shock and probably took 10 videos of her swimming around the pool. We also rocked some sweet George Washington hair (picture of Ella). Nic couldn't even look at me when I did it...yep, I'm that hideous!!
Nic, Britten, Tammy and I took the kids on a hike one day. It was SO hot and I thought the kids were all going to pass out.
We went to Tuacahn's "Aladdin" one night. I rummaged up a babysitter so Nixon, Daniel and Dreya could stay home and sleep, but the BIG kids go to stay up late and enjoy the show! I thought it was cute and the kids loved the part where the magic carpet actually flew around the crowd!
On Sunday, we went to church, got bored, had dinner and went to a fun little park with streams, fountains and cool water features for kids to play in. They had no problem getting DRENCHED in their clothes....until they got cold of course :)
Always a fun time in St. George! The remainder of our time was spent eating junk food, playing games, watching movies, and relaxing while the kids hibernated in the play room!

Brigham City Temple Open House
My mom and I took the kids to the Temple Open House last week. I figured it would be good for them to see the inside and have a little more understanding of it all. It was beautiful and peaceful. Glad we went :)
