Pumpkins!

We were hoping to go to the Pumpkin Patch while Nana was here, but as luck would have it, the weather was terrible.  Luckily, I have the most understanding kids ever and they were totally fine with going to a local, parking lot, flower nursery that's been transformed into a pumpkin store for the fall.  It was windy and cold, so we made it quick, but they each got the pumpkin of their choice! The picture of sad Nixon cracks me up.  All he wants to do is carry his pumpkin, but once he picks it up, it's so heavy that he just cries and doesn't know what to do with it!  Here he is, after just setting his pumpkin down.....and wanting to pick it up again.....and crying the whole time.  The final jack-o-lantern picture is proof of Nic's fine work.  He carved everybody's pumpkin.  He carved "Mavis" into his pumpkin, the little vampire bat from "Hotel Transylvania". The girls couldn't believe it!  Cute Daddy.

We also went to a matinee showing of "Hotel Transylvania".  Nana took Averi last week and said it was adorable, so she wanted to take these kiddos!  We all loved it.

Nixon's haircut

So....I thought Nic was just going to give those curls a trim, and I was a little surprised when I turned around and saw this.  But how could I NOT be happy with how handsome this little guy looks!!!  He looks different, but it's a cute different.

St. George trip

UEA/Fall Break 2012.  We decided to head down to St. George in the new van, which saved us about $100 in gas might I add.  We stopped at Scheels on the way to check ou the Ferris Wheel, overpriced clothing, and sweet dude taxedermy exibits.  Very cool store.  The ride down was actually quite enjoyable.

My parents brought great Grandma with them since she has recently moved to Utah since the death of her sweet husband in July.  She's in a really nice assisted living center about 5 minutes up the hill from me.  Anyway, I think she had fun just watching the kids play for a few days.  We usually do the same thing every time we go down.  Hiking, Swimming and lots of playing.  A couple different things we did this time:  Rode the carousel by the splash pad, rode the Razor by Gunlock Reservoir and Nic and I escaped one night and went to the movies.  As always, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back.

We stopped at Ashley & Ryan's on the way home to have dinner with Matt, Kate, Averi, Elle, Hudson and Nana.  We had a delicious dinner and the kids had the most FABULOUT time slip n' sliding on the pool cover!

The slide

These weird mats/mattresses were in my neighborhood with a "fee" sign hanging from them.  They looked like fun so we tossed them in the trailer, Lysoled the heck out of them, and let the girls have them.  While we were on our way to the basement to set them up as gymnastic mats, we discovered that they make a GREAT, slippery slide!  These things gave us a good 3 days of solid entertainment.  And trust me, I rode this thing a few times and it was FUN!

Prepared Camryn

2 times in the last couple weeks, I've gone in to wake up the girls at 7am and found Camryn asleep in her school clothes.  She's so pumped to jump out of bed and show me that she's already dressed for school!  Haha, she cracks me up.  At least she's doing something useful during the late hours of the evening when she can't fall asleep!

Witches Night

My mom's ward has developed the philosophy of "go big or go home".  This Witches Night was no exception.  A Halloween themed dinner, a party planning presentation, a song and dance show, the most delicious desserts I've ever tasted, and a craftathon.  There were some FABULOUS witch costumes.  I've never seen anything like it.  My sisters and I showed up in boring hats :)  I wish the picture wasn't blurry!  (Never trust an old lady with an iphone camera).  It was fun to spend the evening with my ladies!

Zebra pants

The girls have been wanting me to make them pajama pants for a while now.  I don't know where they get these ideas, but I figured pajama pants couldn't be too hard.  Luckily, it was a quick job and these girlies are now the proud owners of the WARMEST jammie pants ever :)

Van Fam

I went back and forth and back and forth on this decision.  Finally, I went to the dealership, traded in the Honda, and came home with this beauty!  Buyers remorse was at its peak for the next few days.  I went back to the dealership twice to try to return/trade the car back.  That was looking like a complicated process.  Now that it's official and I've allowed myself to get used to it, I LOVE it!  Nic still isn't quite sure, but I honestly love this car.  It's got all the bells and whistles that make my life easier.  And at this point in my life, that's much more important than driving a cool looking SUV.  We actually still have the Infiniti, and I still love that car, but it's now Nic's baby :)  As you can see in this picture, the kids are excited.  They think this van is the best thing that's ever happened to them.  Haha....I'm sure they'll change their minds in a few years.

Handsome

Kendyl's Kneaders Field Trip

Awesome field trip!  They kids (and lots of moms) were taken on a tour of the bakery, then the tots got to decorate their own sugar cookie in the kitchen area!  Kendyl took this job seriously and put a lot of thought into making her cookie into a flower.  Haha, funny girl.  She was ALSO the only child to eat her entire cookie.  Was I surprised?  Absolutely not.  Most kids took about 3 bites.  The manager even gave us all a drink and a loaf of cinnamon roll bread ON THE HOUSE!    Kneaders is the best!  Thanks Kendyl Wendyl for letting your old mom tag along :)

First week of October

Brooklyn Babe lost her first tooth on Monday!!  She didn't waste a SECOND putting that thing under her pillow.  Lucky for her, the tooth fairy brought her a gold coin dollar.  She couldn't wait to spend it at Target.  She bought a cute pen :)  She's been using it to write in her journal.  Love it.
My poor, always-sick little Kendyl.  When she gets sick, she struggles to catch her breath.  Her albuterol breathing treatment has turned in to a common ritual in her life.  She knows when she needs a treatment and she knows how to strap it on and endure the 20 minute long treatment.  No big deal, right Kendyl!?
Her sisters are so so so good to her.

Nic and I took the babes to the deli at Dick's Market.  They were stoked.  If you've ever seen "What About Bob?", Nixon uses that same excitement and enthusiasm when he eats.  "Num, Num, Yummy!"  We just laugh.  He's hilarious.  They got donut holes when they were done....it was quite the exciting hour :)

If you couldn't tell, he's 'pretty tough.

"Hello?  You don't say!!!!"

I don't know why, but whenever these 2 are hanging out like this, it just makes me smile.  I LOVE having these men in the house.

While I was sanding yet another piece of furniture (dresser for kids), Kendyl decided she wanted to sit in the pool right by me and let her Barbie swim.  It was the LAST warm day.  Kendyl makes me smile :)
3 sweet girls

3 sweet girls and a crazy head boy!....who is also very sweet :)

Movie Night- My girls LIVE for movie night!  Haha, such easy entertainment.  They're all popcorn junkies.

My sisters!  I was going through an old box the other day and found this gem.  We took this photo 10 years ago when we took a little vacation to Arizona.  We bought twinner shirts and twinner flip flops at Target. I'm ready for another one ladies!!
