Dear Mom, 10 Years!!!!! XOXO

We got to celebrate my beautiful mom yesterday at Race for the Cure. 10 years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a horrible time, but she beat it and kicked cancer's butt! I LOVE my mom to pieces and don't know how I could survive without her in my life. It's nice to have a weekend to celebrate our moms. Aren't they wonderful! Nic and I are so blessed to have two amazing mothers in our lives that would do ANYTHING to make our lives good. I just pray I can make life just as good for my kiddos!

Another Bedroom Makeover!

Remember this room?

It's Kendyl's room. Unfortunately, we've got a bedroom shortage on our hands with a new baby coming. I suppose we have a bedroom in the basement, but we've converted it into a playroom and there's no way I could disband that. So Kendyl's about to get a new roommate.

Anyway, it all started with putting Kendyl in the dreaded "big girl bed". I tried to put it off as long as I could, but it was time. I'm happy to report, she's been in the bed for a couple weeks so far and hasn't dared get out of it ONCE! Naps and all! What a relief. To top off all this big girl stuff, she's now wearing panties to bed also. She's not about to let her big sisters leave her in the dust :)

Obviously a remodel was in order. Nic's view was "who cares, the baby won't care if he's in a pink bed". but.....he wasn't too hard to convince otherwise. So here it is, the gender-neutral hippo bedroom. The twin bed frame is probably 30 years old and each of the Sellers children had their turn with it. I called dibs on it a while back :) The paint job was a joint effort (obviously Nic did a bit more then I did). And for the record, I almost cried when we painted over her cute pink walls and the cute little flowers with white paint. My mom and I created the valance together. I will miss the cute little neapolitan bedroom, but this one is super cute too...very different! I'm glad it's all done. I'm ready to be project-free and just relax for the next couple weeks. Ya right, who am I kidding with these 3 maniacs running around :)

Easter

Our Easter festivities were pretty typical. I only speak for myself though because the girls get SUPER pumped about holidays and Easter is no exception. Even though my enthusiasm for anything exciting is 0% right now, I still did my best to make it special for my little cuties. They are precious. I don't know how I lucked out so much with my kiddos.

On Saturday, we did the Woods Cross City egg hunt. Kendyl ripped into those eggs as fast as she could gather them. She has a candy problem. I've GOT to get that fixed. They also got to make an egg magnet in the gym. They LOVE doing crafts. I'm not the best "crafting" momma- but anything that sticks and needs cut counts.

We colored eggs later that day.

Egg hunt at Grandma's

My birthday party (ya, it was on Easter this year). Nic made the fondant bunny and the girls and I made the cake. We actually just made it for fun a few weeks ago, then I figured we'd freeze it and use it for my birthday. Don't worry, it was still yummy :)

And just so I don't forget. My girls LOVE to peel eggs. I hand them a carton of hard boiled eggs and they peel the whole lot. I have yet to find a shell! So here they are peeling Easter eggs the next day for egg sandwiches....our favorite.

35 Weeks

Here I am at 35 1/2 weeks. I am feeling D.O.N.E. I hate to complain about pregnancy because honestly, I feel so blessed that I'm able to have children and avoid complications. I know alot of people who struggle getting pregnant or holding on to pregnancies and it breaks my heart. I must say though, I don't sail through pregnancy. I seem to get all the nasty symptoms you hear about. The last month I've been dealing with nausea once again, CONSTANT contractions (although I'm not dialated), heartburn, too uncomfortable to sleep (thank heavens my doc has suggested Ambien), shingles on my stomach (most painful thing EVER...and who KNOWS why I got that!), and waddling (baby boy has dropped). I managed to make it to the gym a few days a week up until a few weeks ago when my body just gave up on me....pass is now on hold for a couple months. I think my doctor could sense my misery at my appointment last week. He told me he'd "get things going" in the next couple weeks. I've never had my membranes stripped but I hear it's painful. I don't care. Let's get things moving! We're ready for baby Nixon!

Sweet Brooklyn

B is SO patient with Kendyl. She will give up any toy, any snack, you name it, if Kendyl asks for it. She doesn't want to see Kendyl sad. She does the same for Camryn...but not quite as often :) Here she is helping Kendyl color a picture.

Kendyl's Breathing Treat

My poor little girl has MASTERED her breathing treatment. It's just an albuterol nebulizer, but she calls it her "breathing treat". She's actually been asking for it this week while she's been sick. She just sits there and holds the mask on her face the whole time. It takes about 10 minutes. My poor girls have all had RSV as babies and now suffer with mild asthma because of it. The twins have nearly outgrown it. but Kendyl's gets pretty bad in the winter. She catches EVERYTHING and always ends up with crackling, labored breathing. So here's a picture for my memory box!

Bedroom Makeover!

Nic surprised me with THIS when I got back from Vegas. One more reason to love him.

Before
(I have NO pictures of our "before" bedroom. So...., the first picture is our bedding in our Idaho house. The second picture is the ONLY picture I have that shows ANY of my current bedroom. Pathetic, I know. But look how cute those twinners were!)

After
(Not the best picture, but I don't have the energy to walk back upstairs and take another one!)
