You'll see at the end why this St. Patrick's Day is Steff's. So I decided to go all out this year with the green food. The day started off with the Leprechaun leaving us some hot GREEN cinnamon rolls and a banana on the porch. No, we don't understand why he leaves us a banana each year :) Then we brought them in to eat and noticed that the dang Leprechaun had made a mess of the house...obviously searching for gold. The kids were stoked about that.
Next on the list, we put on our green outfits and went to Daddy's soccer game. Nic plays on an indoor team with a bunch of people from our ward. He scored 4 goals...yep, we're proud. Nixon gets passed from little girl to little girl. Such a flirt ;)
We got home and had our green lunch. Tuna fish sandwiches (dyed green of course), green juice, green apples and green jigglers. (yes, they humored me and allowed me to take their pictures with their food all day....they were starting to get weirded out by it all at this point).
Lastly, our dinner. It was delicious.
Did I post all of this to show you how awesome I am?? ABSOLUTELY!!! But honestly, no, I'm not awesome at all, but perhaps the biggest loser ever. I spent hours making all this food the night before in hopes that my kids would be so pumped to eat green food all day. Did they really care? Maybe at breakfast. By dinner time when I busted out the food and said, "Who wants their green dinner!?" Camryn said to me, "Why are you so pumped about having everything green?" I just kind of stood there and said, "I don't know.". Lesson learned. I completely wasted my time and energy on the whole green theme, but at least we had some good leftovers to eat. When I asked them what their favorite thing about St. Patrick's day was, they replied, "When the leprechaun messed up our house!" You know, the part that took 5 seconds. So good job Steff, I hope you humored yourself with all your green food...you dweeb.

My favorite part is that Camryn said "pumped"!
You are such a wonderful, fun, loving, caring MOM. We love you. Grandma S.
They will remember it and talk about it when they are 24, lovingly. It will have made a huge impression! You are a terrific mom. I may need some recipes! That food looks so yummy! Here at our house, we even forgot it was a special day... NO Green. Sad.
Love you,
The Nana
I am super impressed - as usual! You are an awesome mom! I just bought Averi lucky charms. I feel like the dork!
