Horse Back Riding!

I'm over the Mia Maids in our ward. AHHHH...I know :) For our class activity a couple weeks ago, we went horseback riding. A member of our bishoprick has some horses and he so graciously took us. It was a lot of fun and we really got those stallions movin!!

Baby Bumble Bee

PAPERDOLLS

Our girls LOVE drawing pictures, coloring them, and cutting them out. At least, they have for the last couple months. It's usually mom and dad who end up doing the drawing and cutting, but lately, they've been drawing, coloring and cutting out their own. Why spend money on toys when all they need is some paper, markers and scissors! Anyway, we have a LOOT of these things now. They've actually come a long way in their artistic abilities!

All grown up

Kendyl has been binky free for 2 weeks! I thought it would be disastrous, but she actually did just fine. I'm the one that misses that little binky face. I know, lame, but I thought it was cute.
And to top off all this big girl stuff, Camryn took it upon herself to potty train Kendyl. It's so funny. She takes Kendyl to the bathroom, takes off her diaper, and instructs her to sit on the potty chair, grip the handles tightly, and...push (the kind of push that includes noises, blood rushing to the head and clenched teeth). Kendyl's been succesful 3 times. After the devil of a time I had potty training the twins, I'm going to allow Camryn to complete her mission of potty training Kendyl. If it takes 2 years....so be it. But I'm happy to be left out of the process :) *Kendyl looks a little rough in this picture. It's a strenuous job! Notice her dum dum from a job well done.

Goodbye Grandpa

My Grandpa, Richard K. Sellers, passed away yesterday. He'd been sick with cancer for the last couple years, but his health had really deteriorated in the last few months. His death follows my grandma's death just over two years ago. I know he was ready to go and be with her again.

I have only good memories of my grandpa. We moved from Oregon when I was young so I didn't get to see him very often after that. This made my visits with him all the more special. Here are a few of my favorites. Taking rides in his pickup truck in the woods below his farm. Taking he and grandma with us to Navajo lake each summer to go camping. They usually got to sleep in the trailor and Scott and I would sleep in the back...I'll never forget the snoring! My grandpa was a patriarch and I, along with many of my cousins and siblings, were blessed to have him give us our blessings. I'll also always remember the time he stayed with Nic and I one Saturday evening while he was visiting, grandma was already sick in a nursing home so he'd come alone. Mom and Dad were singing the following morning for Music and the Spoken Word, so they thought it would be best if he stayed with me and we could make hime breakfast and help him out in the morning. I woke up on Sunday to find him sitting on my couch, all showered and ready in his Sunday clothes, watching the Lawrence Welks show. He was singing along, as happy as could be. It was adorable and melted my heart.

We love you Grandpa and there will definitely be a hole in the Sellers' family without you. How wonderful to know we'll get to be together again someday.

Hello Ashley, Goodbye Nic and Kendyl!

Ashley was in town for a few days last week (maybe it was 2 weeks ago...). She's living in Rochester for a few months so we haven't seen her in a while. We ate lots of good food, went to Gardner Village, played LOTS at home, and of course...had a hair day with Grandma and Grandpa Clark (they didn't get their hair done), Sue and her girls, and Tanner. Nic and Kendyl flew to Ohio the day after she got here to watch Sean (Nic's crazy talented youngest brother), play soccer, and also celebrate Nana's birthday!! She didn't know Nic was bringing Kendyl and was super pumped when she saw her at the airport. We missed having Kendyl here, but I was happy to let Nana and Papa enjoy her for a couple days. Matt, Kate and Averi were also involved in the Ohio festivities and Kendyl and Averi couldn't get enough of eachother. Apparantly, hugging was what they enjoyed most. It's a good thing we had Ashley and Tanner for a few days or Camryn, Brooklyn and I would have been pretty sad we were missing out on so much!!!

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell a couple weeks ago with my family and had a blast! The girls finally waterskiid BEHIND the boat! Hooray! Besides that, they spent most of their time playing in the sand and swimming by the houseboat. Nic went home early and got to fly back on the little 6-seater "Taco Bell" plane. Uncle Duane was flying in on it that day, so Nic hitched a ride back to Salt Lake. Anyway, we're sad that our summer of boating is over and the cold weather is rolling in. At least we have pictures of warmth...right?
