He's Locked in the Car!

The weather last week was INCREDIBLE!  I even got a little sun while working in the yard :)  Well one day, the kids were all playing outside while I made dinner inside and when I went out to check on Nixter, he was playing in the van and holding the keys.  What had he done with those keys?  Locked himself in.  Oh boy.  I'm sure I looked like a psycho trying to persuade my baby to push the unlock button!  He almost did it a couple times.  He just thought the whole thing was a fun game.  Finally, after calling AAA and getting a 45 minute ETA, Nic had the most genius idea!  He found a laser pointer and pointed the beam of light RIGHT on the unlock button.  Well naturally, Nixon pushed it!  He was saved!  Haha.  He was pumped out of his mind to get released!

St. Patti's

Our leprechaun isn't nearly as fancy as others (Pinterest leprechauns no doubt), but hey, at least he left us a fruit rainbow and some Lucky Charms!!!  Even dyed the milk green :)....and left the family room in shambles.       Gotta love St. Patrick's Day.

Britten's 1 year mark!

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since we received that horrible phone call about Britten.  He was hit by a bus while serving his mission in Brazil.  The damage was mainly in his head/brain.  After a 4 week coma, lots of surgeries and basically having to relearn how to speak, he's the walking miracle in our Schenk family!  Nobody can deny that the the progress he's been able to make is 100% a miracle from our Heavenly Father.  The doctors were sure that IF Britten lived, he would be a vegetable.  Well they're certainly blown away by this young man!  He's as wonderful as ever and quite honestly, if you didn't know about his situation, you probably wouldn't know anything ever happened....besides a forgotten word here and there :)
We had the opportunity to meet in Logan as friends and family and attend the temple together, then have a wonderful lunch/program at the church.  Don't spend too much time trying to find us in the picture, we had to leave the temple pretty quickly to go retrieve our kids from Leslie and Beckah who so graciously watched them for us!  It was a FABULOUS day and we're so glad we got to be there.

Pass of All Passes- Hollywood Connection

I broke down and bought our whole family the "Pass of All Passes".  They ended up costing $12 a piece and it includes a season pass to 7 Peaks, 3 Real Games, 2 Bees Games, Hollywood Connection and tons more. I'm sure each of those places/events will be CHUCK FULL of Pass holders....but whatever :)  We went to Hollywood Connection last week and it was actually a lot of fun!  My favorite part was laughing until I cried as my kids attempted to roller skate.  Oh man.  I swear when I was a kid, we were just born with that ability.  Nowadays, they're born with the ability to work a cell phone instead.  There was mini golf, where my kids made up for their poor skating skills; and there were lots of fun rides.  We had a great time!  And we'll be back for more!!

New desk

Nic and I have plenty of flaws...but procrastination isn't one of them.  On Friday, we decided it was time for a new desk.  That afternoon, Nic built the top and I took the kids to IKEA to pick out the bases.  By bedtime, voila!  We love it!  Such an improvement from our last desk (which was immediately sold on KSL!)

Kendyl's "Chili's Field Trip"

Miss Shanna works at Chili's when she's not being a preschool teacher.  So naturally, there's going to be a Chili's field trip!  They toured the kitchen, then got lunch.  It was cute watching the boys serve the girls their lunch and the girls serving the boys.  Even Nixter got to get in on the action and show off for the older ladies ;)

Running home

It's been slightly warmer this week, so each day after dropping off our carpool buddy, Jarren, the girls have decided to run home.  I don't know what it is about it, maybe it's how they hold Kendyl's hand, but it's just so cute to see them running as fast as they can to race me home.  I've taken pictures every day.

Pedicures

For Valentines Day, Nic gave us a gift certificate to have our nails done.  I had a pedicure while they had their finger nails and toe nails painted.  It was fun and the girls each got a flowa :)  Don't ask to see Kendyl's fingernails, she picked all the polish off as soon as we got home.  Silly little girl.

POTTY!

Nixon is a copy cat in every way.  When Kendyl (or Kana as he calls her) says she needs to go potty, Nixon yells out, "POTTY!" and runs to his potty chair.  He's used it a few times, but it no way are we in full potty training mode yet!  Plus, now he thinks he gets marshmallows every time he even sits on it....potty or no potty!  Please notice the bottom left picture; blowing his nose while going potty.  Little multi-tasker.

Camryn the Whiz

Camryn tells us all the time that math is her favorite subject.  She's now proving it through her after-school hobbies.

Another haircut for Nixon

Twins

Boondocks

We took the kids to Boondocks last week.  We tried to come up with a reason as to why we were going (don't want them to be spoiles ;) ), and decided it's just to reward them for being such awesome kids.  They really are.  And to make things even better, they got $10 worth of tokens for having all A's on their report cards!  Mama likes that.  We had pizza, played tons of arcade games, played in the kid zone and went bowling.

Indoor Soccer

Nic and I have been playing on an indoor soccer league for a few months now.  We have a blast.  It's basically just people from our ward on the team.  Nic is AWESOME at soccer.  I'm ok.  But we BOTH managed to get on the leaderboard for goals!  If I could travel back in time, I never would have quit soccer...and piano.  Oh well, maybe my kids will learn from my mistakes :)  We just started our new season yesterday and won our first game.  Woo hoo!  Does it get any more romantic?!  No, it doesn't.

Balloons!

It's been nearly a month since Valentines Day...and Nixon is still obsessed.  The last balloon finally came down today (It was time...sorry Nixter).  I loved these pictures Nic took :)

Flying Piggy

Nixon has officially gone from a baby to a toddler.  Boo.  I do love this age though.  He's a pretty easy kid who is SUPER lovey.  We love his curls.  We love his sweet kisses.  We love his obsession with balloons, balls, kitties and appy juice.  He's even started using the potty chair.  He tells me when he's about to go potty and I'll take off his diaper and send him to his toilet.  He RUNS to go sit on it and he's gone a few times now.  Crazy boy.  He IS approaching 2....and I'm just crossing my fingers that they don't get terrible.
Nixon loves money.  He says, "money!" and we let him put coins in the little jar.
He got a little Tiger named Todd.  He loves Todd and asks for him by name.
This little orange coat was Nic's.  Melanie MADE it for him! It's AWESOME!!   Good grief- and I'm impressed with myself if I sew a pillowcase...

This is the towel I put on Nixon when he gets out of the tub.  He goes running up and down the hallway like a flying piggy.  He knows that we think it's funny so her really plays it up :)

St. George...again!

We tend to do a lot of the same things every time we go to St. George...and you know what, it never seems to get old.  I think I'm ready to move!!  This trip was over President's Day weekend and we went with Tammy's family.  One highlight was the night Tammy & Britten babysat so Nic and I could go out.  There were no good movies playing and we didn't know what to do with ourselves!  Haha. We ended up eating dinner, reading magazines at Barne's & Noble, buying groceries at Walmart, and getting some frozen yogurt and people watching (always comical).  Yep, old farts I guess. :)
