Kendyl's Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy

After years of struggling with ongoing sickness and gasping for air, we decided to take Kendyl to an ENT.  He quickly determined that Kendyl's tonsils needed to come out.  She's been SOOO excited for this surgery!  Strange, I know, but we told her she was going to get to eat icecream and popsicles.  That's all it took :)  I took her shopping for her treats yesterday and boy was she thrilled!  The girls made sure that we stopped somewhere to buy her a present yesterday after their soccer game.  They've been so cute with her.
Before Surgery at 6:30am

They gave her a bear that we named Cherry.  She was so excited!

Her nurse let Kendyl listen to her own heart beat.

All prepped and ready to go!

Goodbye Kendyl!  Still excited!

The surgery went well!  The doc said her tonsils were MASSIVE and chronically infected :(  They couldn't believe how brave and sweet she was.  Didn't shed a tear or complain at all.  She's a little groggy in this pic.  Look how they dressed up her Hello Kitty like a doctor :)  I few minutes after I took this picture, I mentioned to Nic that I'd been cold all morning. Before I could say another word, Kendyl had pulled her Hello Kitty off herself and handed it to me.  Oh man....the sweetness.

A couple hours later (and 2 posicles, 2 bowls of icecream and a jello cup later)  she's still pumped!  She wishes her siblings were here so she could play with them!  Here's to hoping things don't go down hill during the next little while. Love, Love, Love my Kendyl Babe.  Seriously, I just love her.

Gone Fishin! And other St. George stuff :)

Prepare to be shocked....we went to St. George for Spring Break.  We spent most of our time in the pool.  Oh what a relief to finally catch some sunshine!!!  The fish kids never wanted to get out of the water.  Even Nixon wouldn't stop jumping in over and over and over again. When we weren't swimming, we were hiking, shopping, picnicking at the park, and FISHING!!!  I think I'm ready to move to a lake!  ALL the kids caught fish- even on their little Disney poles :)  They were pretty excited, with the exception of Ella who was just devastated about what was happening to the poor fish!  haha, She'll be a PETA  member someday.  *Holly, Clark, Nic and I ate REAL Mexican food at Irmita's and had our picture taken on the Zebra and Burro.  *Tammy, Holly and I shopped together!  First time in years!  *Lots of water balloons.  *Grandma Nicolaysen forgot her bag.  *Conference.  *Croods. *Popcorn.  Popcorn.  Popcorn. *Marshmallow roasting.  *Grandpa's bedtime story.

Easter

Easter was a good time at our house!  Cute little Brooklyn was quick to make sure her siblings understood the REAL meaning of Easter :)  But of course, we had fun with all the traditional stuff too!  We dyed eggs outside the day before- it was so warm and nice!  They had a blast decorating and designing their eggs.  We also went to an Easter Egg hunt at Barton Creek that morning.  Great Grandma was so excited to have all the kids there.  And trust me, the kids were happy to support this event- their baskets were overflowing. We also had egg hunts at our house and Grandma's house the next day.  It was fun watching Nixon get so pumped about finding the eggs.  He knows EXACTLY what's inside the plastic ones.  I shouldn't forget to mention the girls' Easter dresses!  They picked them out and absolutely LOVE them!  They wear them almost every day because they love how they twirl :)

The SHACK is BACK!

The first warm day of the season...my kids were ready to sell snow cones.  They had a whoppin 3 customers!!  Haha, not a whole lot of kids on our end of the street :(  They're excited to plug away at their little business all summer! *They ate more than they sold.

Just a bunch of crazy heads whom I adore...

Nigh Night, Todd. Nigh, Night, Monkey.

Those are the words Nixon whispers to his little stuffed animals as he tucks them in at bed time.  Melts my heart each and every time.
