Day 5

This picture is from day one. It's now day 5 and Kendyl's looking alot better. Here are her currents stats for all those who are keeping tabs. Oxygen is now at a .1 liter. IV has been taken out and she's staying hydrated through breastmilk. Suctioning isn't quite as frequent. She's getting better! She still has a really sore throat from the suction tube and crying so her hoarse cry just breaks my heart. She's been coughing non-stop today, but apparantly that's good for getting all the crud out. All in all, she's starting to do better and now we're hoping to go home at the beginning of next week- we're keeping our fingers crossed. I probably won't update again until we either go home or something groundbreaking happens.

Kendyl Update

Today has been sad. She's actually starting to breath better and her oxygen has been turned down to .8 liters, but now she's spiking fevers. And what do they do when a newborn gets fevers? Apparantly they have to get a urine culture with a catheter, and a blood culture by going in another vein. They just need to rule out the possibility that the fever is stemming from a different, more serious sickness. They said it's probably not though. I've been by her side through everything they've done to her, but I had to leave for this one. I sat in the breastpumping room and cried. I needed that. You can only be tough for so long before you've just got to break down a little. Anyway, she's been eating well and seems more lively, so I'm hoping she's going to follow this trend, I thik she will (knock on wood). Thanks for all the support & prayers!

RSV

Our poor little Kendyl is sick. She was tested positive for RSV on Monday night and we were taken on ambulance, up to Primary Children's Hospital. The doctors said they were pretty scared the first night she was here because she was struggling so much to breath, she was white as a ghost and her sats were so low. She's been more stable since then. She's on an IV and oxygen, she gets her nose suctioned out with a hose every couple hours, gets breathing therapy by pounding on her chest and back 3 times a day, gets albuterol treatments every 2 hours (a mist to open your lungs), and gets her heal pricked a few times a day so they can check her blood gas level. It's so sad. Nic's mom flew in last night to stay with my other sick ones, Camryn & Brooklyn, seeing as my parents are in India for a couple weeks and can't help out. We're SO grateful to have her here to help since Nic has to be at work during the day. We're planning on being here for at least a few more days...but I'll update as things hopefully progress.

Groundhog Day

Unfortunately, my life has become "Groundhog Day"...you know, the day that just keeps repeating itself. I wake up, feed Kendyl, feed the twins, protect Kendyl from the over-loving sisters while I try to clean up and get myself somewhat ready for the day, sit in the playroom and watch the girlies play, lunch, yada yada yada. I'm sure most of you understand. Anyway, this is the reason I have nothing interesting to report. I apologize. I guess I should remind everyone one more time that this blog will soon be private. If you have any interest in our oh-so-exciting life, then leave me a comment with your email and I'll make sure to add you. I leave you now with some random pictures
Yep- Camryn is already changing diapers

Sadly, this is what Kendyl does most of her life. Cries. Sad for us all.

It's a good thing she's so cute!

Now, an extremely random assortment of old pictures in NO particular order. Just for fun.

No more pervs- GOING PRIVATE

OK, I'm guessing there probably aren't a whole lot of pervs reading my blog, but I knew the title would get your attention. As a gift to Nic, I've decided to make your favorite blog PRIVATE. I know I know, I hate seeing that headline on people's blogs too. However, after some creepy news story on psychos stalking people through their blogs, we've decided it may a smart move... (Especially since I accidentally posted nudie pics of Kendyl when she was born...I took care of it). So, if you're interested in keeping up with the Clarks, shoot me a comment or an email (steffanic03@gmail.com) that has YOUR email on it, then I can send you an invite, don't be shy! I'm flattered that anyone would be interested in my crazy life! I'm sorry to make you go through the hassle. Seriously.

And here's a picture of your authors to make this post not quite so dull.
