Spring Break- Part 1

Our Spring Break this year was spent in St. George, San Diego and Disneyland. It's been planned for a year and I'm pretty sure my children have been counting down since then. We had a GREAT time and enjoyed GREAT weather. Was Disneyland crowded? YES. But I'm ok with crowds :) Nic and I left a couple days before everyone else and spent a couple days in St. George. We swam, relaxed, watched conference, hiked and just hung out. The kids slept in the playroom and were stoked to wake up in there and just start playing! One funny memory- Holly and her family arrived late on Saturday night and there weren't enough pack n plays for baby Daniel. We gave her Nixon's and put him in the closet on a blanket. He woke up crying in the night and when I went in there to find him, he was gone!!! Then I saw the corner of his little sleep sack sticking out from under the shelves. The poor baby had gotten himself wedged under the shelves and couldn't even raise his head. Poor baby. I shoved a pillow under that shelf so it wouldn't happen again.
One more memory- I printed off little conference journals for my kids to fill out during General Conference. Camryn and Kendyl filled out a little and spent some time coloring it, but Brooklyn took it VERY seriously. She watched the entire session. She made sure she wrote down every speaker, what color tie or dress they were wearing and the topic they spoke on. She was so bummed that President Monson didn't speak on Saturday afternoon. There was a page in her journal that asked for 3 things President Monson said. She is truly a unique child :)

On Sunday, we journeyed to San Diego. We stopped in Vegas and had lunch with one of Nic's best friends/college buddies, Brian, and his wife Jen. Then we got in the car and SLOWLY drove the rest of the way. Seriously, the traffic was INSANE!!! NEVER DO THAT DRIVE ON THE WEEKEND!!! We figured we spent 4 solid hours at a stand still (when we did the math at the end). I haven't seen Nic that mad in a while.

We stayed at the Oceanside Worldmark. We got there late and just chucked our sleepy kids in bed when we got there.

The next day, we went to the beach! Nixon just chilled on his towel and played with toys and the girls enjoyed the water and making sand castles. Later that night, our friend Quinton came over and had dinner with the fam and let us play on his SEGWAY! It was awesome :)
